De Villiers Graaff High

De Villiers Graaff High School lies at the feet of the Villiersdorp Mountains just 100km from Cape Town. The school was founded in 1872 and has since been offering quality education to all learners who pass through its doors. Since its inception the primary focus has been on academics, despite a strong sporting culture and history. The JAKS trust has been involved with the restoration of House Duraan and other school facilities to aid the continuation of the high standards that the school set out to achieve 144 years ago.

Principal, Gesina Loubser has laid a solid foundation for the future growth of the school and SS4LS is excited to partner with such a dynamic principal. SS4LS also facilitated the process in obtaining the services of former 1st-class and qualified CSA Level 3 coach, Les Wenzler, who heads up the cricket development programme at the school. Five years into the program, in 2019, the school produced its first Boland Khaya Majola Week player in over 40 years and had five other players in the various provincial age group squads, a first for the school. Cricket South Africa has also come on-board as a partner, declaring DVG as a Focus School, which will further enhance the cricket development programme at the school.
