Feeding Scheme Updates

The school is part of the National School Nutrition Program (NSNP) which provides meals to needy learners. SS4LS facilitated the process in partnering the school with the Department of Agriculture, Lukhanyo Urban Farming Network (LUFN) and the local Rotary Club, to increase the number of beneficiaries and further enhance the nutritional value in the meals.

Recently SS4LS also secured an additional partner in Food Forward SA, to further enhance the feeding program at the school. SS4LS also facilitated the partnership of Kerria Primary with the Stroebel Foundation in cultivating a vegetable garden project at the John Stroebel Educare Centre. This centre is a source of many learners for Kerria Primary (Grade R), where they are now educated in, and form an integral part, of the crop cultivation and harvesting process, before moving on to primary school.
